What We Do

Kirklees Fairtrade Forum

The Kirklees Fairtrade Forum is a group of individuals, community members, businesses, councillors and organisations working together to promote Fairtrade across Kirklees. The Forum meets 6 times a year and all are welcome to be involved.

From Fairtrade coffee mornings to market stalls, Fairtrade exhibitions and events; Kirklees Fairtrade Forum creatively engages with communities across Huddersfield and the Kirklees district to inspire, connect and involve people in Fairtrade activity.

What is Fairtrade?

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. The Fairtrade Mark guarantees a fair price for the people behind the product. When you buy a Fairtrade product you are having a direct positive impact on the lives of the producers and their families: from vanilla farmers in Madagascar, to cotton farmers in India; from wine growers in Chile to cocoa farmers in Ghana.
