Social Progress Means Business With Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Programme

Janet Bebb and Esther Orridge from Digital Marketing Agency Social Progress have just returned from Facebook, London for a “Train the Trainer” Event as part of the “Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Programme”. The #SheMeansBusiness Programme is an initiative set up by Facebook and partnered with Enterprise Nation, with the target to train 50,000 female entrepreneurs across the UK in 2019. The Programme consists of 24 hand-picked digital marketing specialist from across the UK who have been trained by Facebook to deliver Training Events and Meet Ups on their behalf to achieve their ambitious target. Janet Bebb was the only Northerner approached by Enterprise Nation in 2016 as a recognised specialist in the field of social media training and account management. The owner and director of Huddersfield based social media agency, Social Progress, was invited to be part of the Programme and was flown over to Facebook HQ, Dublin in 2017. Along with 7 other digital marketing specialists from the UK, the group were given a tour of the impressive headquarters of the social media giant and taken through the training required to become an official “Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Accredited Trainer”. Janet has attended the annual catch ups with Facebook and Enterprise Nation since then. This year, Social Progress employee Esther Orridge also attended the 2019 “Train the Trainer Event” to become a Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Accredited Trainer. Social Progress will be delivering a variety of taster training or meet-up events in and around the Huddersfield area, especially for female entrepreneurs to book on, to learn about Facebook and Instagram. “The aim of the Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Programme is to encourage entrepreneurial women (and men) to use and embrace Facebook and Instagram’s range of marketing collateral in order to grow their business. During the Digital Marketing Roadshow - Wigan on Wednesday 7th June at DW Stadium five leading industry experts will be coming together to discuss diversity in Digital and how gender balance is being addressed. The day has a very exciting list of digital related seminars throughout the day including a Google Digital Garage session on 'Reach New Customers Online & Know your Business with Google Analytics.' The Digital Women Debate is being hosted by Naomi Timperley who runs Coo Digital & is a Tech North Advocate. Social Progress, owner and MD Janet Bebb is one of the five panelists discussing gender balance in the digital along with Debbie Edwards, F Disrupters, Wendy Bowers at Role, Melissa Conlon, Commercial Director at Magma and Aaron Crewe from novi.digital. Big Screen Social our highly visual Twitter Wall will also be featuring at the event displaying the photos, branding and messages of delegates, exhibitors and speakers via hashtag #DMRoadshow helping to spread the word about the full day event and reach an online audience.
