Leeds City Region Revolving Investment Fund

The Leeds City Region Revolving Investment Fund (“Leeds City Region RIF”) provides short term loans of over £1m to support businesses to accelerate economic growth and job creation within the Leeds City Region.


The Resource Efficiency Fund is the latest package of business support to be available to businesses across the Leeds City Region through the LEP’s Growth Service. The £2.65m programme, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, was launch on 2 February 2016.


The ERDF AD:VENTURE programme provides dedicated funded support to eligible pre-start, young and new businesses in the Leeds City Region.

The programme offers intensive, bespoke guidance to small and medium sized businesses under 3 years old. Support available includes; expert mentoring, events and workshops, finance brokerage, grants, business incubator space, one to one consultancy projects and peer to peer learning.


A business support programme that will help eligible small and medium sized businesses to develop their digital capacity and thereby helping them increase their overall performance (competitiveness, productivity and profitability).

LEP Grants

We provide grants of between £10,000 and £250,000 to small and medium sized businesses who are based in the Leeds City Region, or planning to invest here.

LEP Loans

We offer loans of between £500,000 and £1 million for businesses based or investing in the Leeds City Region, to support capital projects, focusing particularly on infrastructure.

Finance Yorkshire

Finance Yorkshire provides seedcorn finance, business loans and equity linked finance ranging from £15k to £2m for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME's*).

Funding Circle

The UK Government is lending £60m to businesses through Funding Circle, alongside thousands of people and other investors.

Prince's Trust

We work with 18 to 30-year-olds to turn big ideas into a business reality through our Enterprise programme. From training and mentoring support to funding and resources, we're with you every step of the way.


The Shell LiveWIRE programme offers free online business advice and funding to young entrepreneurs (Age 16-30) in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Start Up Loans

Start up loans are available up to £25,000, over 1-5 years at a fixed 6% interest p.a.

Ragdoll Foundation

Open Grants – supporting organisations working with children and young people using the arts and creative media. The Ragdoll Foundation Open Grant scheme supports non-profit organisations working with children and young people using the arts and creative media. Grants of up to £50k are available but the majority of grants awarded are likely to be in the region of £5k to £30k and cover between 25% and 80% of total costs.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation

The Shared Ground Fund will provide organisations with the financial support they need to test new approaches and explore ways of addressing new challenges in this area of great change and uncertainty. It will also support organisations with an already strong track record of achievement with substantial help to achieve a greater impact.

Biorenewables Capital Grant Scheme

The BDC European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Project is able to support small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Yorkshire and the Humber to develop their businesses through the use of biorenewable materials. Whether you are assessing a raw material, needing a new process to develop it, or looking for new bio-based products/ingredients, this funding could be for you.

Arts Council England Funding

The Arts Council invest money from government and the National Lottery in arts and culture across England.

Carbon Trust Green Business Fund

Energy efficiency support, energy assessments and funding for small and medium-sized businesses in England, Scotland and Wales

East Peak Innovation Partnership Leader Programme

The new EPIP LEADER programme 2015-2020 launched in April 2016. Our project budget has been confirmed at £1.1m over 4 years. The minimum grant available is £5,000 and the maximum is £40,000, at the rates shown below.

Santander Fund

Santander work in partnership with the University of Huddersfield to offer funding of up to £1500 for SMEs looking to expand their workforce with graduate talent.

European Fund for Strategic Investment

The European Commission and the European Investment Bank proposed the Investment Plan for Europe in November 2014, as an initiative to fight economic weakness lingering from the 2008 financial crisis. The aim was to relaunch investment and restore EU competitiveness, thus increasing growth and creating jobs.

Zero Power Water Monitoring Challenge

The European Commission is inviting European innovators to come up with solutions based on self-powered and wireless smart sensing technologies, designed for real-time monitoring of water resources.

The South Pennines LEADER programme 2015–2019

The South Pennines LEADER Programme runs until 2019, and has a budget available for projects that create jobs and economic growth. It’s an online process, and has recently been simplified, making the first step simply an Expression of Interest. However, it’s approximately a 7 month process from start to finish.

Faraday Challenge: Innovation - feasibility studies

Through this competition, UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £10 million to work on innovation projects to design, develop and manufacture batteries for the electrification of vehicles.

Connected & Autonomous Vehicles: R&D & Feasibility Studies Competitions

The Business Secretary has announced two competitions to encourage projects that show how connected and autonomous vehicles can work in the real world. These will be funded by the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV).
